Idris Elba To Star In Beast Of No Nation By Uzodinma Iweala

Uzodinma Iweala is the son of Minister of Finance
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. His first novel, Beast Of No
Nation, is being made into a film staring Hollywood
actor Idris Elba. See press release below...
Red Crown Productions has set Idris Elba to star
and Cary Fukunaga to direct Beasts of No Nation,
an adaptation of Uzodinma Iweala's bestselling
novel.
The story follows the journey of a young boy, Agu,
who, when civil war engulfs his West African
country is forced to join a unit of mercenary
fighters. Not only must Agu face the death of his
father and disappearance of his mother and
sister, but must also join a life of violence and
brutality. Agu befriends a mute boy named Strika
and together they face the crimes and hardships
of war. Elba will play the lead role of Commander
and he will serve in a producing capacity as well.
Elba joins Red Crown Productions' Daniela Taplin
Lundberg and Riva Marker, Parliament Of Owls' Cary
Fukunaga and Primary Productions principal Amy
Kaufman as producers on the film. Daniel Crown and
Bill Benenson will serve as executive producers. Red
Crown is funding the film.
Beasts Of No Nation was packaged by WME Global,
which arranged the financing and will make the
domestic deal. IM Global's specialty label Acclaim will
make international sales at the Toronto Film Festival.
Fukunaga has helmed Jane Eyre and Sin Nombre and
is currently helming the HBO series True Detective.
Elba is really hitting stride. He reprises his title role
in a new season of Neil Cross's celebrated detective
series Luther, which premieres on BBC America in
September, and he plays Nelson Mandela in Mandela:
Long Walk To Freedom, which The Weinstein
Company releases in November. He's coming off the
Guillermo del Toro-directed Pacific Rim, which is
approaching the $400 million mark in worldwide
gross.
"We fell in love with Iweala's powerful narrative and
Idris and Cary are a tremendous pairing," said Red
Crown Productions partner Lundberg. Said Fukunaga:
"This project has been seven years in the making, so
to say I'm excited to start shooting this — and with
Idris Elba as lead — would be me trying to play it
cool. Red Crown has real moxie standing behind this
story."
Both Elba and Fukunaga are repped by WME and
managed by Anonymous Content. Elba is also with
Headshell Management and Roger Charteris at UK-
based Ken McReddie. Fred Toczek is his attorney
while Fukunaga's attorney is Michael Adler.

Dear Nigerians;Where Is Your Culture

A prouldly nigerian man sent me a mail and begged me to share it. See it below. Before the white men came, we were
scantily dressed.Our women walked
about bare chested. Boobs hanging out;
rape was minimal. Our men married as
many wives as their yam barn could
contain.
The white man came; told us our ways and methods
were barbaric. They told us we
need to stick to one woman as the bible taught (but
most great men in the Bible had more than one wife).
We accepted their ways of life, changed our names
to theirs; threw away our culture and traditions.
Ironically this same white-men are back with a new
concept,
telling us that we have to now re-adjust our marriage
laws. That, what they said earlier was not fully correct,
about
"one man, one woman". Now they have added, "man/
man"; "Woman/woman".
African Christians still frown at the
idea of polygamy; yet call this new
concept "Signs of the end times"
Europeans colonized India and Nigeria; Both countries
got their independence at almost the same time. Most
indians
are hindus, the kept their religion,
accepted the white mans education,
language etc. Rare to see an Indian
person with English names, their dress
code still remains, traditional, Indian attires, India is
country developing at
fast rate
Their medical care is one of the best in
the world. They manufacture and
export, they are a nuclear armed
country, have warships etc. Like every other country
they still have poor
masses. Nigeria, one the other hand,
accepted the white mans religion. We
dumped our names dress code etc. We
ignored the technology. Now the
number one export from Nigerians is religion. Most
churches now have
branches all over the world. Yet our
mind set speaks other wise. When the
word corruption comes up. People
imagine politicians, yes most
politicians are corrupt. But the masses are too. From
the messenger in the
office, to typist asking for money for
coke. To the policeman in the street. To
the contractor doing substandard jobs.
Enough of the "signs of end times"
mentality, and hoping for a magical intervention. We
are the ones who can
make the change we so desire!!!.So what do u guys think.

Things Aren't Always What They Seem.

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the
home of a wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay
in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were
given a space in the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older
angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the
younger angel asked why, the older angel replied...
"Things aren't always what they seem".
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a
very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife.
After sharing what little food they had the couple let
the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a
good night's rest. When the sun came up the next
morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in
tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older
angel "how could you have let this happen!? The first
man had everything, yet you helped him," she accused.
"The second family had little but was willing to share
everything, and you let their cow die."
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel
replied. "When we stayed in the basement of the
mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in
the wall.
Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and
unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so
he wouldn't find it. Then last night as we slept in the
farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I
gave her the cow instead. Things aren't always what
they seem."

3 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Got Married

I used to think I had my
stuff together. Then I got
married.
Marriage is greatbut it
rocked everything I knew. I
quickly realized my basic
goal in life, prior to getting
married, was to simply
remain undisturbed.
This 'disruption' came suddenly and was disguised
as a 5-foot-nothing Swedish-Filipino woman. When I
decided I'd rather not live without her, I proceeded to
ask her to marry methat is, to officially invite
someone who wasn't me to be in my personal space
for the rest of my life.
This decision introduced my most significant
experiences and most challenging experiencesnone
of which I would trade for the world.
However, I wish I'd had a bit more insight on the
front end of our marriage to help me navigate it all.
According to most research, more than 50 percent of
people who say 'I do' will not be sleeping in the same
bed eight years from now. And though Scripture
alludes to the fact that adultery and abuse may be
reasons individuals might end a marriage, I'd be
willing to bet that most challenges experienced in
marriage are the result of unawareness.
Most peoplemyself includedjump into marriage with
suitcases full of misconceptions and bad theology,
entirely unaware of the unique beauty and
paradoxical intentions of marriage.Although
happiness is often a very real byproduct of a healthy
relationship, marriage has a far more significant
purpose in sight.
The following are three thoughts on marriage that
friends and mentors have shared with me. I remind
myself of them often in hopes of keeping this
anomaly called marriage both enjoyable and healthy.
1. Marriage is not about living happily ever after.
Here's the truth: I get annoyed at my wife. But this is
more a reflection of me than her.
I'm intensely certain that nothing in life has ever
made me more angry, frustrated or annoyed than my
wife. Inevitably, just when I think I've given all I can
possibly give, she somehow finds a way to ask for
more.
The worst part of it all is that her demands aren't
unreasonable. One day she expects me to stay
emotionally engaged. The next, she's looking for me
to validate the way that she feels. The list goes onbut
never ventures far from things she perfectly well
deserves as a wife.
Unfortunately for her, deserving or not, her needs
often compete with my self-focus. I know it shouldn't
be this way, but I am selfish and stubborn and,
overall, human.
I once read a book that alluded to the idea that
marriage is the fire of lifethat somehow it's designed
to refine all our dysfunction and spur us into
progressive wholeness. In this light, contrary to
popular opinion, the goal of marriage is not
happiness. And although happiness is often a very
real byproduct of a healthy relationship, marriage
has a far more significant purpose in sight. It is
designed to pull dysfunction to the surface of our
lives, set it on fire and help us grow.
When we're willing to see it this way, then the points
of friction in our marriages quickly become gifts that
consistently invite us into a more whole and fulfilling
experience of life.
2. The more you give to marriage, the more it gives
back.
Over the past year, a few friends and I have had an
open conversation about the highs and lows of
marriagespecifically how to make the most of the
high times and avoid the low ones. Along the way, we
happened upon a derailing hypothesis that goes
something like this: If one makes their husband or
wife priority number one, all other areas of life
benefit
It's a disorienting claim. Disorienting, because it
protests my deeper persuasion that success as an
entrepreneur, or any professional, requires that
career takes the throne of my priorities and remain
there for, at the very least, a couple of years.
However, seeing that my recent pattern of caring
about work over marriage had produced little more
than paying bills and a miserable wife, I figured
giving the philosophy a test drive couldn't hurt.
For 31 days, I intentionally put my wife first over
everything else, and then I tracked how it worked. I
created a metric for these purposes, to mark our
relationship as priority, and then my effectiveness in
all other areas of my life on the same scale, including
career productivity and general quality of life.
To my surprise, a month later, I had a chart of data
and a handful of ironic experiences to prove that the
more you give to marriage, the more it gives back.
Notably, on the days my wife genuinely felt valued, I
observed her advocating for me to invest deeply in to
my work. She no longer saw our relationship and my
career pursuits as competitors for my attention, and
as she partnered with me in my career, I have
experienced the benefits of having the closest person
in my life champion me.
Of course, marriage requires sacrifice. And
sometimes it will feel as if it takes and takes.
However, when we return marriage to its rightful
place in our priorities, it can quickly turn from
something we have to maintain and sacrifice for into
the greatest asset to every other layer of our lives.
3. Marriage can change the world.
John Medina, the author of Brain Rules and a
Christian biologist, is often approached by men
looking for the silver bullet of fathering. In one way or
another, they all come around to asking, 'What's the
most important thing I can do as a father?'
Medina's answer alludes to a surprising truth.
In my previously mentioned experiment, I measured
the effect that making my marriage priority number
one had on different areas of my life. One of those
areas was my 16-month-old son's behavior.
What I found in simply charting my observations was
that the majority of the time, my child's behavior
was directly affected by the level of intention I
invested in my marriage.
Re-enter John Medina, the Christian biologist. After
years of biological research and several books on
parenting conclusions, what is his answer to the
question, 'What's the most important thing I can do
as a father'?
'Go home and love your wife.'
Gary Ezzo and Robert Bucknam, the authors of
Babywise, say it this way: 'A healthy marriage
creates an infused stability within the family and a
haven of security for a child in their development
process.' They go on to sum up their years of
research by saying, 'In the end, great marriages
produce great parents.'
The point is that marriage has a higher goal than to
make two people happy or even whole. Yes, the
investment we make into our marriage pays
dividends for us. But, concluded by Medina and his
colleagues, the same investment also has significant
implications for our family, our community and
eventually our culture.
So men, women, the next time you find yourself
dreaming about living significantly or succeeding in
your career or being a better parent than yours were
to you, do the world a favor: Go home and love your
wife. Go home and and love your husband.

Forex Trading In Nigeria:Your Link To Fabulous

Many Nigerians today dream of hitting a fabulous
fortune from working on the Internet.
While there is absolutely no harm in dreaming big,
for some, it is sheer greed. Greed that
makes them ready to believe just about anything
they read or hear about making money
online.
A case in point is forex trading in Nigeria. On my
recent trip to Ibadan, I saw several
advertising drives, aimed at recruiting forex traders.
Huge posters and banners have
defaced just about any available public space in
some parts of the ancient city. Many of
them were advertising "forex training", while others
were advertising e-gold funding/
exchange.
Wikipedia describes the term Foreign exchange
market (forex trading) thus:
The foreign exchange (currency or forex or FX)
market exists wherever one currency is
traded for another. It is by far the largest financial
market in the world, and includes trading
between large banks, central banks, currency
speculators, multinational corporations,
governments, and other financial markets and
institutions. The average daily trade in the
global forex markets currently exceeds US$ 2–2.5
trillion [citation needed]. Retail
traders (individuals) are a small fraction of this
market and may only participate indirectly
through brokers or banks.
It is indeed possible to make money from forex
trading online but then what the "trainers"
do is to massively hype the returns one could make
from forex trading. Thus, many
Nigerians are attracted because they are informed
that they could earn very high returns on
their investment capital.
These hypes have resulted in many loosing their
money due to mis-information and have
ended-up denting the reputation of the forex trading
brokers to the extent that Fx
Solutions (FxSol) had to stop dealing with Nigerians
completely. A mail from FX Sol has
been making rounds in online forums recently:
Dear Trader,
Thank you for registering for a practice account.
However, FX Solutions, in an effort to
help protect the citizens of Nigeria from fraudulent
schemes, is no longer accepting live
trading account applications from Nigeria.
FX Solutions is taking this action as the company has
noticed a rapid increase in instances
of fraud that promise unrealistic expectations in
foreign exchange trading, while
specifically targeting Nigerian citizens. Nigerian
citizens should be aware that there are
risks associated with all trading, and there is no
methodology that can eliminate risk or
guarantee performance.
If you are still interested in trading foreign exchange,
please consider opening a practice
account with another broker.
Regards,
FX Solutions
These "trainers" charge between 15,000 naira and
100,000 naira (between $115 and
$781) for training sessions that last for between 1
day and 3 days! Now, how someone can
learn the nitty-gritty of a sensitive activity like forex
trading in 3 days (talk-less of 1 day),
beats my imagination! What such "trainers" only do
is to introduce their audience to the
basics of forex trading and expect them to figure out
the rest themselves. The charitable
ones among them give their trainees some printed or
CD tutorials, and thus the money
spent on training is exhausted.
Do not get me wrong. Forex trading is real and a
trillion-dollar industry. It is indeed possible
to make money from the foreign exchange market.
What Nigerians need to be careful about
are scammers who would only give you rudiments
and collect your money in the name of
training.

Ben Affleck To Play Batman In The "MAN OF STEEL" Sequel

I know, right? Ben Affleck as Batman? Warner Bros.
announced yesterday Thursday August 22nd that
Ben Affleck will take over Christian Bale's role as
Batman in the sequel to the Superman movie "Man

Just like some of you, millions of Batman fans are
against him playing the role and have asked Warner
Bros to drop him or they will boycott the movie.
There's already a petition on Change.org for Warner
Bros to drop Affleck; a petition that already has over
10,000 signatures. What do you think of Ben Affleck
as Bruce Wayne? See what others think..Lol.The petition. This casting move is only if Ben Affleck play Robin Gotham isn't Boston.

Angeline jolie: What's Happening To Syrian Children Is "Sickening"

By Lily Harrison
Angelina Jolie is making her voice heard once again on
the Syrian crisis.
"What is happening to the children of Syria is
sickening," the UNHCR Special Envoy said in a
statement obtained by E! News.
"Thousands of innocent young boys and girls have lost
their lives in horrific circumstances, including in recent
attacks near Damascus. And now one million Syrian
children are struggling to survive as refugees in heart-
breaking conditions."
She went on to say, "Each one of these child refugees is
an innocent victim of a senseless conflict. These
vulnerable children need shelter, food and assistance.
But above all, they need security."
Jolie urged world leaders to take notice of the crisis,
saying, "The international community must not look
away from Syria, they must renew the search for peace
with urgency and determination."
The Oscar winner traveled to Jordan in June, in honor of
World Refugee Day, to meet with new Syrian refugees
at the Jordan border as part of a fact-finding effort in
her role as a special envoy for the UNHR, a United
Nations refugee agency.
While meeting with refugees at the Jaber border
crossing, the mother of six listened to stories of
families whose loved ones have been killed, whose
homes have been destroyed by bombs and whose
towns have been left devastated by fighting that's
tragically created more than 1.6 million refugees.
In a post on UNHRC's website, Jolie said the aim of her
visit is "to show support for Syria's refugees, to call on
the world to address their plight, and to better
understand needs in Jordan and other countries in the
region most directly affected by his devastating
conflict."
Brad Pitt's leading lady had previously visited the
Jordanian border in December of 2012, where she
urged world politicians to boost humanitarian aid and
work towards finding a solution to the country's civil
war.

The Paraguayan War: Killed 60% to 90% of its Population, Making it the Deadliest (statistically) of Modern Times

The Paraguayan War included so many atrocities and
crimes against humanity that it would be pointless to
mention only one. The war, which is also known (in
Spanish) as "Guerra de la Triple Alianza" and in
Paraguay as the " Great War," lasted for six years. It
was between Paraguay, that fought bravely for its
history and territory, against the attacking Triple
Alliance of Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. According
to various official and historical sources, the specific
war was so brutal and deadly that it resulted in
approximately 300,000 deaths in the heroic country
of Paraguay out of its 500,000 inhabitants. According
to many historians, including Harvard College
Professor Steven Pinker, the incredibly high death
ratio of the war exceeded more than 60% of the total
population, while other estimates that are based on
both disease and war place the number of deaths at
over 1.2 million people, which would consist of over
90% of its pre-war population. One way or another,
it's undoubtedly the most catastrophic war of our
time and, statistically, one of the worst of all time, as
well.

"BETTY"THE SAVED THE LIVES OF 38 CREWMEN OF A TORPEDOED SHIP.

By Wilbur S. Forrest UPI Correspondent.
London July 20, 1915.
Thirty eight members of the crew of the British cargo
steamer Caucasian, torpedoed off the British coast,
owe their lives to a diminutive Pomeranian dog.
The story was told today at headquarters of the
National Canine Defense League where Captain
Robinson of the Caucasian was awarded a silver
medal for saving the life of the dog and consequently
the crew.
The Caucasian was torpedoed after a submarine had
pursued the vessel for an hour. While the crew was
swarming into the boats Captain Robinson handed
"Betty" his wife's ten month old Pomeranian dog to
the second mate directing that the animal be placed
in a life boat. The mate handed "Betty" to a member
of the crew who accidently dropped her overboard.
When the captain entered the boat he saw the little
dog swimming toward the submarine. He
immediately jumped into the water and swam about
a quarter of mile. When he reached the dog he placed
it on his shoulder and was surprised to find that he
was within a few yards of the submarine. The
German officer of the craft, standing on the deck,
addressed him in imperfect English.
"I had made up my mind to blow up your lifeboats
because you did stop your ship, but I will not do so as
a reward for your brave swim to save your little dog."
Captain Robinson swam back to his lifeboat and the
submarine proceeded on its search for other victims.
The crew were picked by the British steamer
Inglemoor but immediately were forced to take again
to their own boats as the submarine returned and
torpedoed the Inglemoor.
Captain Robinson with his dog, and crew, were finally
rescued by another steamer and landed in Benzance.
Correspondent Wilbur S. Forrest is one of the London
staff of the UPI bureau, he was in charge of the
Cleveland bureau of the United Press up to the time
of his transfer, early in 1915, to the other side.
Forrest was the first American Correspondent to
reach Queenstown after the Lusitanian was
torpedoed and his graphic story gave the American
press a splendid picture of that disaster.

How To Look Younger-Tips From Great America Experts

The best way to
look younger is
to feel
younger."Many
of the things we
blame on aging
today really
have nothing to
do with getting
older." says Ben
Douglas,
Ph.D who was
former Professor
of Anatomy at
the famous university Of Mississippi medical center..
"In the end aging is a way of thinking," says
Dr.Douglas… "In the past,we've thought that a
person was old at age 65,it just isn't the case at
all."..Here are a few more important tips from great
American experts who are recommending the
following anti aging measures for the well being of
humanity..
How To Look Younger : A Positive Mind Always
Plays A Major Role
Happiness is a state of the mind and is not of
materialistic pleasures..Of course,it is important to
have all the comforts in life but it is also equally
important to draw a line at some point of time and be
contented with what God has given us..There is no
point in brooding over little things that are just not
under our control..We should learn to be more
philosophical in our life and learn to accept things as
they are.
"A positive attitude is largely a matter of feeling that
you have control over your life..",says Robin
Barr,Ph.D and former Director of the NIA's Adult
Psychological Development Program…He says "
Good mindset helps you look years younger and in
retaining that younger looking skin"
How To Look Younger : It's Your World,Have A
Blast At The Gym
Researchers indicate that building muscle strength
provides better benefits to our health and vitality
than it was previously thought.."Combined with a
regimen of aerobic exercises,weight
training strengthens your heart, boosts energy levels
and protects you from injuries..It will not only
improve your sex life but also makes you look years
younger" says Mark.H.Cline,who was Ph.D of the Male
Health Center in Dallas…"As a result,the average
man who lifts weights looks even better than an
endurance athlete when they are both older" says
John Holloszy,M.D. a researcher at Washington
University School Of Medicine in St.Louis..
How To Look Younger : Keep A Check On Your
Protein Intake
"The average American eats
twice the protein he needs"
says Art Mollen who was
Medical Director at the
South West Health Institute
in Phoenix..He further says
that "For optimal health eat
one gram of protein for
every three pounds of body
per day..That's about 5o
grams for a 150 pound
man.. A small portion
of sirloin streak trimmed of fat contains about 35
grams,so limit yourself to one protein based meal per
day" is what he says
How To Look Younger : It's Good To
Supplement Your Diet
One theory says that the aging process itself is the
cumulative result of wear and tear from free
radicals…We can protect ourselves against both
heart disease and cancer by getting more of the
powerhouse vitamins E (Sunflower seeds, Almonds,
Pine nuts, Pea nuts, dried herbs, dried Apricot, cooked
Spinach and cooked Taro Root) and Vitamin C
(Oranges, Clementines, Strawberries,Kiwi fruits,
Papayas, Bell Peppers,Guavas) and the nutrient Beta
Carotene(Sweet Potato, Kale, Carrots, Butternut
squash) either through supplements or our daily
diet..
All these three vitamins can reduce levels of free
radicals and damaged molecules that cause harmful
changes in our body..
Unlike many other nutrients,vitamins E , C and Beta
Carotene are safe to take in amounts higher than the
Recommended Dietary Allowance…"Since the risk is
minimal,it's safe to take more" says Jeffrey
Blumberg,Ph.D,. who was Professor of Nutrition at the
Tufts University…He suggests that "..optional intakes
for anti oxidants may be in the range of 100 to 400
international units of Vitamin E, 500 to 1,000
milligrams of Vitamin C and 15 to 25 milligrams of
Beta Carotene everyday…"
How To Look Younger : Drop Pounds And Not
Calories
Drooping pounds is important than dropping
calories.."By eating less you risk cheating your body
of important nutrients…The formula for a healthy
weight loss is to exercise more as you reach middle
age and eat more calories as well.. Just be sure they
are low fat calories…60 to 70 percent of your food
should consist of foods high in complex
carbohydrates such as bread, pasta and beans..This
way you can look years younger." says Dr.Poehlman.
How To Look Younger : Avoid Too Much Of Sun
Exposure
"The Sun damages your skin completely." explains
Karen Burke,M.D of the Scripps Clinic and Research
Foundation in La Jolia,California…"It gradually
destroys your skin's inner elastic tissue and breaks
down the connective tissue, all causing premature
aging..As the outer layer of your skin thickens to
protect the inner layers, your skin becomes leathery
and old looking."
How To Look Younger : Have A Great Amount
Of Sex
Having sex
regularly is just
as important as
keeping fit,not
only for physical
reasons but also
for
psychological
ones as well.."
Giving up on
sex at any age can be symbolically giving up on all of
life" says E.Douglas Whitehead,M.D.,a New York
Urologist specializing in treating impotence.."Giving
up on sex at any age can drain vitality out of your
marriage,your work,your sense of physical well-being
and many of the other satisfactions that the second
half of life can bring"..Regular sex reduces stress
levels, reduces calories and keeps both wife and
husband trim and active at any age..
How To Look Younger : It Is Important To
Maintain A Proper Posture
A hunched over posture may not cause any medical
problems, but will certainly make us older before our
time.."..To walk tall keep your rear tucked in,pull in
your chin, tighten your stomach muscles and keep
your knees unlocked..For the long term, you also need
to guard your bones against loss of calcium…Men
lose this mineral more slowly than women do,but we
do lose it,especially in the spine" says Richard
Sprott,Ph.D,who led the NIA's Biology Of Aging
Program..
"..Too little Calcium can eventually make you slouch
and can also lead to a greater risk of crippling
injury..eating Calcium rich foods such as skim
milk,low fat cheese,low fat yogurt,broccoli,nuts and
dried fruits make your bones stronger..Also
important is regular exercise,particularly weight
training, which makes bones denser and stronger.." is
what Richard Sprott says..
How To Look Younger : You Need To Tone Up
Your Back
Most back troubles are minor problems caused by
weak muscles,particularly the abdominals,which
provide most of the spine's support..To strengthen
them,Dr.Alexis P. Shelekov,M.D, a spine surgeon at
the Texas Back Institute in Dallas recommends
walking,in conjunction with curl-ups.
"Lie on your back with your knees bent and your
hands on your thighs… Keeping your lower back
pressed to the ground, lift your head, neck and
shoulders..Hold for a count of two; return..Start with
five per day, working unto three sets of ten…As your
abdominals become stronger, try the curl ups with
your hands across your chest.." he says
How To Look Younger : Get Enough Sleep
"Lack of rest at any age is
going to make you feel old.."
says Michael Vitiello,who
was an associate director of
the Sleep and Aging
Research Program at the
University Of Washington in
Seattle.. Fatigue makes you
physically slow and mentally
dull..So how much sleep is
enough?. "It is not so important how long you sleep
as how good you feel during the day as a result." say
Vitiello.
He advises "..turning in and getting up at the same
time everyday is the best way to keep your body
clock in sync.."..He also says "..a good amount of
sleep gives you a radiant skin.."
How To Look Younger : It Is Fine To Have A
Drink
"Alcohol boosts levels of HDL cholesterol(the good
kind),"and there are surprisingly few things that will
do that," says Dr.Rossman…Research continues to
pour in showing that moderate drinking (one or two
alcoholic drinks per day and no more) protects
against heart disease..
Drinking men,in one recent study, had less risk of
death from heart disease than men who never touch
the stuff…Still Doctors are cautious about prescribing
alcohol as a preventive medicine, since heavy
drinking damages the heart, brain and liver..Red
wine,in particular, offers many health benefits if
consumed in moderation. That's all for now,Come back next week for more. Thanks

AMERICAN HIT SENTRY ON THE HEAD WITH A PICK HANDLE AND ESCAPE FROM HUN PRISON CAMP.

Shenandoah Evening Herald
June 20, 1918
By Lowell Mellet, UPI Correspondent.
With the Americans on the Marne. James A. Dunahue
of Newark N.J. felt around in the dark till he got hold
of a broken pick. Then he hit his sleepy German
guard over the head and two days later, yesterday he
made the following report to the second division HQ
on what it is like to be a prisoner in the German
Army:
"I went down the woods (Belleau Wood) and joined
my command, what there was left of it. They were all
spit upon and mixed up. I heard a whistle blow and
went forward. Every time that a flare would go up I
would drop down. There was a lot of rifle firing. Just
ahead I saw four or five men and thought they were
our fellows. I ran right into them and when I got there
one of them hit me on the head with something.
When I came to they took me up before an officer. He
said, "How many Americans are there over here" I
said thirty two divisions of Americans and forty
divisions of the French he said, "Ach Schwein,
Schwein.!"
BOOTED AND KICKED
'Then they booted me and shoved me away. Going
out I got a couple more kicks. They took ,me down
the road a piece. Detachments coming along would
give me the once over and say: "Ach American!
Schwein. I don't know how long I walked but it was a
long time. I didn't sleep all that night.
"Next morning I got an axe about the size of this
helmet handed me and without anything to eat they
put me to work cutting with them. They had machine
guns all through the woods. Then they took me
across an open field and back into another woods and
had me cut more brush. They were digging
emplacements. They were digging and setting
machine guns in it and try it turning all around and
then move to another place and then camouflage
that hoe with brush.
"That night I tried to sleep in an old covering. About
the time I would get started sleeping they would
come along and give me a boot and take me to
another place. Then they took me on another march.
HUNS IN YANKEE UNIFORMS
That evening three men in American uniforms
walked up to an officer and talked with him. Then
they turned and walked back toward the line. The
about seven French soldiers or men in French
uniforms walked up and talked to this officer and
then turned and walked toward the line.
"They would give me soup and black bread to eat.
That was enough to drive a man crazy. Then they
would sit in front of me and eat cheese and bread
and drink something that looked like coffee to
tantalize me. They kept me chopping all the time,
they had about 15 or twenty me carrying away the
brush while I chopped it. They were using to
camouflage the ditches they had ammunition in
them.
TOOK CHANCE TO ESCAPE
"I was there about seven or eight nights. I could not
keep track of the days. So between shoving me
around and kicking me around. I thought I would try
to escape and take a chance of being shot. So when
another sentry came on I watched him and he sits
down by a tree and looked like he was sleeping. I
moved a bit an no move out of the sentry. He just
kept right on snoring. Away. I just rolled over and got
a little closer and still no movement from him. I
reached right around and gets hold of an old pick
handle. So I hit him on the head with the pick handle
and not a sound or grunt out of him. I slipped right
away then. Then I ran across those Red Cross dogs of
theirs. They have a little canteen on both sides of
them. I went on a little piece and stayed in the woods
for a while when the dogs were around, but there was
not a whimper out of them. They were just running
around.
TRAVELED BY NIGHT
"I would go on and when I would run close to a bunch
I would drop down and stay still until they had gone
away, and then I would go on further. I would travel
by night and lay hid in the woods by day. It took me
two days to get up here. Well I kept on coming and
one day I found a bag with some old hard bread in it
and little pieces of cheese. I came across a stream
and soaked the bread and ate it.
"I kept on coming until I got up where the shells were
dropping all around me and thought it was all up
with me.
"I keep[t on going through and then I heard a sentry,
yell "Halt" and I said: "Don't shoot: I am an American
I went up to him and asked where Headquarters was,
then I got an M.P. and he took me up to A.P. M.

FREIGHTFUL ATROCITIES BY SENEGALESE SOLDIERS.

LONDON SEPT. 7, 1914
The London Globe prints a gruesome story of the
manner in which the French Senegalese soldiers
have followed up victories over German troops. The
account is contained in a letter from a reader of the
Globe who claim to have witnessed the incidents.
"It is a wonder", reads a letter to the Globe, "that the
French and British troops have not retaliated on the
Germans for the terrible atrocities committed by the
latter. The Tucos and Senegalese, however are not so
scrupulous.
"One Senegalese warrior is walking about Havre with
a neck lass of German ears strong across his
shoulders. Another carries at his waist the gory head
of a Uhlan with a dented picklehaube set with a
rakish tilt over one eye.
" A wounded Turco was put into the carriage of a Red
Cross train with four wounded Germans. At the first
stop, a doctor came to the window and asked if they
were all right. The Turco replied that the Germans
were resting peacefully.
"It was not until the train reached the destination
that it was discovered how peaceful their rest was.
The Turco had strangled all four of them."
One can quite understand the French desire to gets
at the Germans. The letter stated. " I hear first hand
stories, not third hand , "yarns" that make the blood
run cold. All boys whom they catch have their right
arms cut off sometimes at the wrist, sometimes at
the elbow. Both boys and girls are mutilated in
revolting fashion. Quite close in Arras a three weeks
old child was torn from its mothers breast and
hacked into bits before her eyes."

Four Ways To Show Care Today.

C – Compassion = concern, kindness,
consideration.
As you go through your day today ask God to
show you where and how you can show kindness,
consideration and concern in a meaningful and
simple way to someone on your pathway. When
you feel the nudge take the time to respond. Show
consideration.
A – Appreciate
Show appreciation in an intentional and specific
way to someone whom the Lord highlights on your
radar screen today. Be genuinely appreciative.
Say "thanks".
R – Reach Out
Don't wait for others to take the first step to greet,
speak, say or do something. Be ready to reach out
in the moment you become aware of the choice.
Go first.
E – Encourage
It costs nothing to say a sincere and encouraging
word. Be aware today that you have the power of
life and death in your tongue. Bite your tongue
when careless words want to spill out. Ask God to
fill your mind and heart with His goodness toward
others. Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth
speaks. Use your words to build.

I come across it touch me so much-Giving Our Best. Poet Julie Herbert

Every day that we are alive,
We should be asking ourselves
whether we,
Are we giving our best to each day,
This is something we may not all
see.
See each day we are given is a gift,
And to waste it would be very
wrong.
But our lives are just that,
Ours to do with and hope our life's
long.
But that's just it, our lives may not
be long,
And come to an end before we are
ready.
Don't be that person, who regrets,
Live your life full and steady.
Close your eyes and go to sleep,
Knowing you've conquer your day.
You'll life will be very successful,
And you'll be happy to look back
when you're gray.

The CEO Of You:The Why And How Of Personal Branding.

Everyone you meet around the corner thinks he or
she is a one of a kind, a unique being with an
exceptional story. Every job seeker shouts that he or
she is an industry leader, the right man for the spot
and someone with the single most valuable asset
that can take the company to the next level.
Well, in a world where seven billion people go around
trying to make a name for themselves, and in an
online society with millions of interactions and
connections shaping everything from the
employment market to the dating world, it is
virtually impossible to come along and claim that you
can stand out, make your voice heard and get the
attention of the right people.
This is where personal branding comes in handy
because in the company of YOU, there is plenty of
marketing that can be enacted in order to turn the
once unknown guy into a household reference and
center of attention!
Know your qualities and you'll know how to upgrade
yourself
Generation-Y is sure as hell about what they want to
be, what they want to have, where they want to get
and sometimes how, but what people tend to forget
is that if they don't know who they are first, then the
rest can't flow seamlessly.
Self-evaluation is like detailing an assessment plan
for a company before reshaping it. You should have a
good sense of your strengths and weaknesses, your
skills and what you are known for, your personality
and how it strikes others. You also need to
understand that being honest with yourself and
objectively facing your flaws is imperative, so man
up and get down to it, even if it brings you face to
face with your negative traits that you've always
pretended don't exist!
Why knowing yourself? Because personal branding,
unlike corporate marketing, needs to be based on
true assets and qualifications. If corporate marketing
is about fabrication to manipulate the client base,
personal branding is about marketing what you really
have, so a good way to start is by establishing what
your entourage thinks of you and what you think of
yourself.
Maybe in the past people could be mathematicians,
scientists, architects, philosophers and priests at the
same time, but today, you have to focus on one thing
and work on enhancing it.
If you are good at coding, for example, put all your
energy into this field. You are a bullsh*tter, sharpen
it up so that it gets you what you want. You are a
geek, don't be ashamed of it. Harness your natural
talents to set you apart in your chosen work sector!
Work smart, not hard!
You understand what your strengths are and your
friends have expressed your strengths — Now starts
the important part of personal branding. This entails
focusing on how to improve your skills and in what
direction you want to take your future. You might be
a good speaker, but if you're planning on becoming
an entrepreneur, don't use your tongue to come up
as a pimp, sweet-talking ladies all around!
Use your speaking abilities at getting yourself into
entrepreneurial settings, like dinners and get-
togethers, or by learning how to give convincing talks
and presentations to investors and venture
capitalists. Skills can be applicable to various fields,
but always narrow down your interest to a single
sector and shape your qualifications to match it.
It's all about getting the word around that you are
the best at what you're doing, so that when people
think about the key terms "entrepreneur," "artist," or
"marketer," the first name to pop in someone's mind
is yours!
Social media you say?
This is not news, everyone understands and speaks
all the time about the importance of social media, so
I cannot stress enough the fact that you should use
various outlets extensively to promote your image.
Be sure to share content that links back to the
industry you want to be associated with, but don't
make the mistake of turning into a zombie whose job
is to share every article he finds about
entrepreneurship or technology.
Try to be at the source of content, not at its end! If
you like to be remembered as a reference in your
industry, write about it. Start a blog, launch Facebook
groups or pages, and make videos. You will be able to
establish a brand for yourself if, by just looking at
your Facebook page or reading your blog, someone
can easily say, "Damn this guy knows his sh*t!".
On another note, don't use social media exclusively
as a springboard, but also as a tool to track your
brand image and the industry change. Like pages
that fit in your interest on Facebook and you will
always be updated on what's the latest going on.
Why? It is all about the famous quote "Adapt. React.
Re-Adapt. Act" by Michael Scott.
If you can't understand the latest developments,
along with the new needs and gaps in your industry
of interest, you'll be left in the dust because you
couldn't keep up with the quickly developing world
we live in. An example would be: if you're into
finance and you want everyone to know you as the
"Wall Street guy," then checking CNN Money, CNBC,
Forbes and the like, knowing and talking about the
updates would surely position you as the guy to go to
if I want to talk stocks, bonds and NASDAQ!
The brand is there, how about its management?
What hurts your personal brand the most? Ask
Britney Spears how hard her coke scandals hit her
image! The moral is not that using coke is an unwise
choice when wanting to establish a good brand (not
in this context), but that once you have the image
out there, keeping it clean becomes your job. That
goes for your social presence as well as your offline
interactions.
Sounding like a dumbass on Facebook and then
attending a startup's dinner is not the best approach
to take because everyone will have a prejudice
against you! Align your life with your brand's
message. Whether we are talking about getting
pictures on Facebook, tweeting, hanging out with
certain people, speaking a certain way or dressing in
a certain manner, you have to continually assess how
your actions impact your image and brand.
At the end, it's all worth it because once you are seen
and known the way you want, you become a
reference that stands out immediately and, surprise,
great stuff starts coming your way! People coming to
you asking for advice, for help or for someone to join
their latest project and be part of it, this is plainly
and simply success and opportunities running after
you, rather than having it the other way around!

A True Love Story-Am Still Waiting For This Lady-Part One

This is the true
love story of a
very lovely and
graceful lady
whom I have,for
the first time,
seen in this real
world,later
visualizedin my
own creative
world and now
dreaming about
in my imaginary
world.. Although
I have a very
vital role to play in this fascinating true love story,it
however has very little to do with the main story..All
in all, this amazing true love story revolves entirely
around this most beautiful lady alone and I,as her
beloved admirer, may at the most say "she's the
most beautiful and the most graceful lady I have ever
come across in my life.."
With a mind conquering grace and a more
captivating enigmatic smile, this amazing lovely lady
is still there, vivid and active,in my memory today
and shall remain to be there forever..AMEN
I very strongly feel that the people around this lovely
world also know about this lovely graceful lady, who
did everything in her life to express herself and
waged a lonely battle against…and finally and finally
and finally..
Finally what..????
I was shocked and felt numb when I came to know
"what it finally was",when a man from America met
me suddenly in a cinema theater in lagos and
told me everything about this lovely graceful
lady, whom I have last seen or heard about twenty
seven years ago but whom I shall keep adoring, for
just what she is,all through my life until God himself
decides to fall in love with me… ..
But whatever "that finally is or was.."
Am Still Waiting For This Lovely Lady
Still after twenty seven years..Still with my eyes wide
open and.. Still with a bouquet in My hands and..Still
with the same smile and…Still with my heart almost
going breathless with every passing day…
AM STILL WAITING FOR THIS LADY..
Waiting to convey her that..That..That..That..That
PERIOD.
Federal University of ibadan in Nigeria,is a
picturesque location spread over 1600 acres(6kms)
of very vast green lands..With beautifully laid out
black top roads and with green Black Berry trees on
both their sides,Federal University ibadan is one of the
oldest modern universities in Nigeria and is a must
watch not only for every student but also for every
lover of Nature..
With the exception of an occasional city bus here and
there, even today, one will not find much of a traffic
moving on the lovely roads of this more lovely
Ibadan University.
My friend,if this is the scenario today, you can
imagine how beautiful this university was twenty
seven years ago…
It was just spectacular..
Just the more serene and
just the more peaceful
than what it's today..And
in this most beautiful
university lies a very
simple looking city bus
stop located under a huge
Black Berry tree..Since
this bus stop lies just in
front of the,FUI ladies
hostel,it's more popularly
known as the ladies hostel
bus stop today..Though no one knows when this bus
stop was actually erected here,it's still there today
but in a slightly dilapidated condition…
Twenty seven years ago..
On a quite day..
It was in this lonely bus stop that I have, for the first
time, seen the most beautiful and the most graceful
lady of my life…
This whole story is about this graceful lady and this
graceful lady alone…
Please go through to know how this true love
story has actually begun..
I was a student of graduation those days and used to
board a local bus to my Sharon college, everyday,in
this ladies hostel bus stop..My college is a hundred
and twenty eight year old college and it was and it
still is one of the most popular and highly celebrated
Nigeria colleges today..
As a student of Sharon College, life in those days, for
me,was as naughty as it ought to be and as exciting
as it's always been for every student of this
prestigious college..
I was always on a song those days with so much to
do in so little a time..
During one such happy days..
It was a lazy Sunny morning in the month of August..
It was around 9 a m and I,as usual,was very late to
my college that day..
Normally at that time of the day only me and my
friend used to hang around there in that bus stop
with literally no one else around…Sitting in the bus
stop and waiting for the bus, singing old school songs
loudly,was our daily routine there..
And on that day too…
Both me and my friend were waiting for our bus..
In a chorus, both of us were very loudly singing a very
popular old school song "Good bye Teachers,Good bye Friends.."..We know,at least I know, pretty well that
our singing was very loud and unbearable but I was
dead sure that there's no one around,to hear and
judge our singing..So no problem..As die hard fans of
Nihgeria film music, both me and my friend were
enjoying every bit of the song and every bit of
our,whatever,the style of singing..
Though all the listeners of my singing often say that
am a bearable singer, however,no one says the same
thing about my friend who, unfortunately is blessed
with an unbearable,unmentionable,unimaginable
and unpardonable singing voice..
But I still used to bear with my friend and his mood
shattering voice.. Wanna know why..??..Coz,those
days,he's my sweet cinema ticket bearer, food bill
bearer, tea bill bearer and finally my Beer bill bearer
too.. Period..
While still
singing,I very
casually turned
my head and
looked into the
direction of the
bus we were
waiting for.. My
singing abruptly
stopped as
I didn't find the
bus coming but
found a very
beautiful young
lady coming
slowly towards the bus stop..She was wearing a Red
color Gown and
even from a reasonably good distance, gave me an
impression that "she's an extremely gorgeous
lady..".. As I was curiously watching her coming, she
slowly walked towards the bus stop and settled
comfortably there in a vacant cement sofa..
At that time,I was casually sitting on the iron bar
that's there on the front side of the bus stop and my
friend was standing diagonally opposite to me..To
say the least, both of us were stunned by her beauty
and were left dumb for a long time..
After a few more minutes of some exhilarating
moments..
My bus came..
I looked at my friend..He understood..And we let the
bus go..Another came and we did the same..
I was curious to know which bus will she be boarding
and which college will she be going to..I tried to look
at her but she was busy waiting for the bus..
Me,my friend and Ms. Gorgeous..Only three of us
were there in the bus stop at that moment..There
was a deafening silence all around..I have stopped
breathing long time ago as I was eagerly waiting and
waiting and just waiting to know which
bus,damned,she's going to board..
After a few more minutes of breathless waiting, her
bus came and stopped slowly, right in front of us in
the bus stop..
She very elegantly got up from the cement sofa she
was thus far decorating and walked slowly towards
the front door of the bus and,as everyone in the bus
were curiously watching her,she very quietly boarded
the bus..The lucky bus..
Looking at her boarding the bus,we just remained
stagnant in the bus stop for a few blank moments…
Suddenly I regained my senses and tried to move
and thought I have already moved and was almost
moving towards the back door of the bus to get
quickly into it…Before me and my friend could realize
what the hell was happening, the lucky bus carrying
the lovely young lady left us and left the bus stop
immediately ..
Ohhhhhhhhhhh..Damned..A big
FFFFFFFFFFFFF..
I was shocked and mouth fully cursed my friend for
not advising me to catch that bus immediately..What
followed later from me was a steamy flow of
words,am sure, you will never find in any dictionary..
Hehhhhh..I cursed myself..Kicked the edge of the bus
stop and did much more things with frustration, but
none of those acts of my dissent could really pacify
me a bit..
After a few more
moments of
fretting,fuming and
severe self
condemnation,I have
finally realized that
there's no point in
breaking my head and no
point in cursing my poor
friend too..However,at the
same time,several uneasy
questions crowded my
mind .."Who's she ..What is she studying..????
Which college.. ?? Did she come here only today..??
Or is she going to come everyday..??????..And if she
is a regular,how come I have missed her earlier..Will
she come again tomorrow..???????.."
Damned-who will answer these questions..???
"God..pleaseee..please appear before me for a
minute and answer these very tough questions..I
very badly need your help..O my dear nice
God,please understand my pain.."
I was very desperate…Not because I have not seen
more gorgeous girls before that, but because no one
shook me so r..o..m..a..n..t..i..c..a..l..l..y..
What to do..???? May be that's love at first sight..
(At a matured age,I may laugh at at this silly
statement today but I know I was right at that tender
age )
After that I was in no mood to go to the college that
day…I was full of irritation and I know pretty well that
I should do something immediately to come out of
that irritable state..I first checked my friend's
pocket ..Found thirty Naira.. Later, checked mine…
Found twenty..

True Story Of A Great Mother The World Has Ever Seen.

Since the
beginning of His
creation,
volumes have
been written
and millions of
phrases have
been told about
Mother and
Mother's love
for her
children. But
none of us must have read or heard about such a
great Mother who truly deserves the salutations of
the entire human world. This is the true story of one
such great Mother from a little known place in India.
On her request even the law allowed the criminals to
go unpunished.
With her nobility, she proved to the whole of human
race that a Mother loves her children even though
they are the most undeserving to be loved.
I read about this painful incident a couple of years
ago in a national daily and felt a sort of uneasiness
and heaviness in my heart for most of the later part
of the day.
My uneasiness was not caused by reading about the
pain inflicted upon The Mother by her own worthless
sons but was,in fact, caused by the magnanimity and
nobility this great Mother has displayed in the most
devastating times of her life.
The police,the journalists,lady constables,other petty
criminals in the police lock up have shed tears with
what this great and noble Mother has said in her final
statement.
Please go through
This ugly gruesome incident took place in a coastal
village near Coiambattore district of Tamilnadu,India.
With a history that dates back to pre historic
times,Tamilnadu is home to many natural
resources,Hindu temples of Dravidian
Architecture,hill stations,beach resorts,multi-
religious pilgrimage sites and eight UNESCO world
heritage sites.Known for their rich culture, tradition
and upholding human values, the people of
Tamilnadu are well learned, well mannered and well
behaved class of the Indian society.
The people of Tamilnadu
are known for their
hospitality and also for
their tradition in
entertaining guests…
Learning Carnatic
classical music is a house
hold tradition here in
Tamilnadu and the people
take great pride in telling
the whole world about
their die hard passion for classical music… With an
amazing coast line of about
910 kilometers,Tamilnadu is India's third largest
coast line that is mainly dependent on monsoons
today…
Though drought is not an uncommon feature in
Tamilnadu,it also very often experiences heavy to
very heavy rainfall.
It was during one such day of a heavy rain fall, when
the whole of that small coastal village near
Coiambattore was sleeping,this ugly incident
occurred…
It was around 5 a.m on a rainy day in the
month of August..
It was raining cats and dogs, for the past seventy two
hours, in that sleepy village
There was a pitch darkness all around the village
with visibility confined only to a couple of meters
distance. There was hardly any light in that
village, that moment,as the power supply was
disrupted due to heavy rains..
As mentioned in Jonathan Swift's "Description Of A
City Shower",the whole scenario there was very
grave.."Drowned puppies,stinking sprats,all
drenched in mud..Dead cats and turnip-tops come
tumbling down the flood."
And in that sort of a grave scenario…
A police Jeep, carrying four Police constables and a
Sub Inspector Of Police, was passing through the
outskirts of that village..The Jeep was returning back
to the police station after patrolling through
the neighboring villages..
In the out skirts of that village, there were quite a few
green Paddy fields all around.
The Police Jeep,with a great difficulty,was sailing
through a small narrow road that was passing
through those Paddy fields…After crossing those
Paddy fields the Jeep,at that point of time, was
passing through a dump yard that was just beside
the Paddy fields.
There was a
heavy rain out
side and all the
police men were
in loud
conversation
with each
other.Though
the noise
outside was also
heavy,they
could still hear
some unusual sound coming from the nearby dump
yard..They suddenly stopped their conversation..The
Sub Inspector asked his driver to stop the Jeep and
switch off the engine. .Now,except the sound of rain
there is no other sound there..
Now the sound from the dump yard is more
clear ..
All the policemen paid a close attention to that sound
coming from that dump yard.
After a few seconds of close attention they could
finally identify that the sound was actually a human
voice…After a few more seconds of silent observation
they found that it was a female voice…Again after a
few more seconds they found that there is a moaning
in that female voice…And again after a few more
seconds of more silent concentration they could
finally identify an agonizing and heart wrenching
pain in that weeping female voice..
Oh,Jesus..
Without waiting for any instructions from anyone, all
the policemen almost together jumped out of the
Jeep and rushed into the dump yard…There is a
heavy rain and a heavier noise there at that time but
the Police men didn't care a bit about it.
After reaching the dump yard they were shocked to
find an eighty year old sickly Mother lying there in
the midst of heavy dirt and garbage.
The Mother was shivering with chills and was
moaning with unbearable pain, trying to say
something or calling someone in her chaste Tamil
language…With her wafer thin cotton saree torn
apart, half of her body was covered with rain
water,mud and garbage wastage…A stray dog,in all
anticipation, was watching her closely from a very
short distance. Come back next week for the remaining story and make sure you come along with your friends.Don't miss it.

Save Human Life-Real Life Story

Dears,
With deep pains (and tears in my eyes), I am sorry to inform You that yesterday morning, one of my dear friend's elder son (Mr. Osita joseph), age 19, studying in 1st year of engineering, died in St Raphael Hospital, Obosi. He was admitted in St Raphael Hospital as burned patient.
Reason
4 days back this boy had gone to Nnewi (One of the city place located in State of Anambra) on study tour. After their study was over, he,his friends, all of them were standing on "okpunoeze busstop" to catch a bus.
As soon as they arrived on okpunoeze bus stop, many of them started taking pictures of their friends using "Mobile Phones" and/or "Digital Camera". One of them complained that, in his camera, he was not able to capture more number of friends in one frame. He was not able to catch the angle. Another boy suggested that let's climb on at the back of the bus and take picture so that all of them can be accommodated in single frame.
At that there was one goods wagon bus resting between 2 main roads.
Osita joe climbed up oil boogie. Above his head, 40,000 volts electrical line was passing through. As soon as he clicked the digital camera? 40,000 volt current passed through the camera flash light to his camera and then from his camera to his fingers and then from his fingers to his body. All this happened within fraction of minutes. Next moment he was thrown from the top. His body was half burned on the spot.
At that time, his father (my friend) was traveling in lagos.. His many friends in Nnewi came to know about this via mobile SMS. They instantly arranged ambulance in okpuno and his burned body was brought to St Raphael Hospital,Obosi. I was told that this is the best hospital in Obosi. For 1 and 1/2 day or so he was talking to his relatives. When he was admitted to the hospital, at that time only, doctor informed his relatives that don't keep great hopes. Because of lot of complex issues in half burned body? He died yesterday morning. Now how many of us are aware about this
technological threats & dangers? Honestly, osita joe and his father was not aware. His family was
not aware.. Our entire friend circle of more than
12,000, we were not aware. Now should we call
ourselves as fully educated and fully knowledgeable
people? Think of it. Please avoid mobile phones on
petrol outlets. Please avoid talking on mobile phones
while driving. I also know many of my friends who do
not bother about this good suggestion and each one
of them have opted for "I don't care Attitude".
Please avoid talking on mobile phones while they are
in charging mode. Avoid charging mobile phones
near Your bed and/or near wooden furniture. Avoid
mobile phones near high voltage electrical lines like
railway stations and use flash lights. My friend, his
family members and we all friends learned our lesson
with loss of young life. Now Would You like to
empower Your friends about this accident so as to
avoid future accidents? We can save human life by
sending this information to everyone.

Jada Pinkett-Smith Gives Divorce Advice.

Jada, who often uses her Facebook page to give
advice and share her thoughts on different issues,
yesterday advised an unnamed friend on how to deal
with her divorce.
Jada writes,
Letter to a friend:
You are divorced. Your ex-husband is not being
kind or considerate, but you can't harp on it
because it steals the energy that should be given
to your potential and power. At the end of the
day, your survival is at risk, and you complaining
about what he is not doing and what he should be
doing does not change your circumstances.
Continue to read the rest of the letter BUT there's
something more hilarious after the cut...someone
replied Jada on FB and the reply got so many likes.
God forgive me for posting it..so horrible. Lol.
Jada's advice continues
We have to use these circumstances to analyze
what we need to do different, how do we need to
strengthen, and how we need to be more. You are
strong and capable, and now you have been put
in a position where you must use your capabilities
to change your circumstances without your ex's
help or kindness.
In the ideal world, the circumstances in which you
and your children are facing are unacceptable, but
the most painful realization I have had about this
life is that we are not entitled to anyone's
kindness or consideration. THAT, is a painful
truth.
Stay focused and keep it moving.
J
Now the reply from a fan...
Dear Jada,
Please pretty please stop giving unsolicited advise. In
case you have not notice, but your family is f-ed up.
Your husband goes on romantic getaways with other
men. Your daughter is been molested by an old perv
and your son is being seduced by a pimp's daughter.
You look like you have not eaten in years. Please take
care of your family first.
Signed,
Get off of facebook
P.S.- Don't you have deal with all those illiterate
children from your school?
Not nice! :-). For those who have not heard about the
school...read below...
The school that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith
founded has been shut down. The New Village
Leadership Academy — which was located near
the couple's Calabasas mansion, has been
troublesome for their marriage since it opened in
2008. A source told the site, "Will told Jada from
the start that opening this school could be a legal
nightmare. He never wanted to do it."
The school began facing troubles when rumors
surfaced that the couple was reportedly using
"Study Technology" — which was developed by
Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. This also
resulted in accusations that the school had an
affiliation with the controversial church.
The site additionally reported that the school
struggled with finances that piled up more than
$1 million in liabilities by 2011, although Will and
Jada charged its students between $7,500 and
$12,000 in tuition.
Another source explained that there have been
students who went there and claimed that they
couldn't even read when they got out of sixth
grade.

25 Inspiring Stories To Make You Smile-By Ezeh Uche

Here's a selection of 25 short stories recently submitted to our sister site,Makes Me Think, that not only made us think, but made us smile too.  We hope they do the same for you.  Enjoy.
1.Today, my son turned 7 and I turned 23.  Yes, I had him on the day I turned 16.  The choices I made when I was a teenager were foolish, and sometimes I get worried I'm bringing my son up wrong.  But today I took him to the park to celebrate our birthdays.  He played for hours with a girl who has burn scars that cover most of her face.  When my son took a break to eat, he pointed to her and said, "She's so pretty and cool!"  Which left me thinking, "I must be doing something right as a mom."  MMT
2.Today at 1AM, my grandma, who is suffering from Alzheimer's, got up, got into my dad's car and drove off.  We contacted the police.  But before the police could find her, two college kids pulled into our driveway with my grandma.  One was driving my dad's car and the other was following in their car.  They said they overheard her crying about being lost at an empty gas station 10 miles away.  My grandma couldn't remember our address, but gave the kids her first and last name.  They looked her up online, found our address, and drove her home.  MMT
3.Today, my 8-year-old son hugged me and said, "You are the best mom in the whole entire world!"  I smiled and sarcastically replied, "How do you know that?  You haven't met every mom in the whole entire world."  My son squeezed me tighter and said, "Yes I have.  You are my world."  MMT
4.Today, my dad turned 91.  He barely has enough strength to speak.  But every time my mom (she's 84) walks into the room to check on him, he says, "Hello beautiful."  MMT
5.Today, when I went to pick-up my daughter from preschool she was sitting on the ground in the corner of the after-care area with 3 blind students.  All of them had smiles on their faces.  The after-care instructor told me my daughter has been spending time with these 3 students every afternoon this week, answering questions and explaining to them in vivid detail what different objects, people and animals look like.  MMT
6.Today, when she woke up from a six month coma, she kissed me and said, "Thank you for being here, and telling me those beautiful stories, and never giving up on me…  And yes, I will marry you."  MMT
7.Today, I found an old hand written note my mom wrote when she was a senior in high school.  On it is a list of qualities she hoped she would someday find in a boyfriend.  The list is basically an exact description of my dad, who she didn't meet until she was 27.  MMT
8.Today is my 18th birthday.  Just over 18 years ago a woman was faced with the harsh fact that she had already had 4 miscarriages and 1 stillbirth.  As she was pregnant for the 5th time, doctors informed her that her pregnancy was risky.  They said there was a good chance either the baby or her wouldn't make it.  She chose to give the baby a chance anyway.  My mom and I both made it and are still healthy to this day.  MMT
9.Today, my grandpa keeps and old, candid photo on his nightstand of my grandma and him laughing together at some party in the 1960's.  My grandma passed away from cancer in 1999 when I was 7.  This evening when I was at his house, my grandpa caught me staring at the photo.  He walked up, hugged me from behind and said, "Remember, just because something doesn't last forever, doesn't mean it wasn't worth your while."  MMT
10.Today, a week after I donated three bags of clothes to a local homeless shelter, I saw a homeless woman sitting on a park bench wearing a tye-dye shirt I made when I was a teenager.  I walked by her and said, "I love your shirt!"  She smiled and said, "Thank you!  I really do too!"  MMT
11.Today, I sat down with my two daughters, ages 4 and 6, to explain to them that we have to move out of our 4 bedroom house and into a 2 bedroom apartment for awhile until I can find another job that pays well.  My daughters looked at each other for a moment and then my youngest daughter turned to me and asked, "Are we all moving into the apartment together?"  "Yes," I replied.  "Oh, so no big deal then," she said.  MMT
12.Today is the 14th day in a row that my nursing home patient's grandson has come to visit her.  Two weeks ago I told him that the only time I see his grandmother smile all week is when he visits her on Sunday mornings.  MMT
13.Today, as I pulled into my apartment complex I noticed my neighbor, who's about 8 months pregnant, struggling with her groceries.  I stopped and helped her bring them up the stairs into her apartment.  This evening, when I got home from the gym I found a freshly baked apple pie sealed in Tupperware sitting on my doorstep with a note that said, "I used the ingredients you helped me carry to bake this.  Enjoy!"  MMT
14.Today, a man came in to apply at my restaurant.  He seemed charismatic, kind, knowledgeable, and friendly.  Later, when I went to call him to extend a job offer, I noticed he had written"ask for me"under his number.  The number belongs to a homeless shelter.  But I'm gonna take a risk and hire him anyways.  MMT
15.Today, I found out that my mom and dad have been working second jobs at night so they can continue to financially assist my twin sister and I who are both sophomores in college.  My dad said,"You two will be the first in our family's history to receive college diplomas.  Two jobs is nothing!  I'd work three if I had to to see you two graduate."  MMT
16.Today, my 12-year-old son, Sean, and I stopped by the nursing home together for the first time in several months.  Usually I come alone see my mother who's suffering from Alzheimer's.  When we walked into the lobby, the nurse said, "Hi, Sean!" and then buzzed us in.  "How does she know your name?" I asked.  "Oh, I swing by here on my walk home from school all the time to say hi to Grandma," Sean said.  I had no idea.  MMT
17.Today, my mom has been blind for 15 years.  She lost her vision in the same car accident that took my dad's life.  I am 18 years old now.  She has raised me as a single mom since I was 3, without her vision.  And yes, she did a heck of a job!  MMT
18.Today, I met the prettiest woman on a plane.  Assuming I wouldn't see her again after we made our connections, I told her how pretty I thought she was.  She gave me the most sincere smile and said, "Nobody has said that to me in 10 years."  It turns out we're both in our mid-30's, never married, no kids, and we live about 5 miles away from each other.  We have a date set for next Saturday after we return home.  MMT
19.Today, my mom received the surgery she needed to remove a malignant tumor.  My family has been struggling without medical insurance since my dad lost his job last year.  My sister and I have been openly discussing my mom's medical dilemma on Facebook.  Last week, a friend of a friend, who's a veteran cancer treatment surgeon who owns his own practice, saw our comments on Facebook and volunteered to help my mother for free.  MMT
20.Today, I'm a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 4.  At 17 I got pregnant with twins.  When my boyfriend and friends found out I wasn't going to abort them, they turned a cold shoulder to me.  But I pressed forward, worked full-time while attending school, graduated high school and college, and met a guy in one of my classes who has loved my children like his own for the last 50 years.  MMT
21.Today, as I was sleeping, I woke up to my daughter calling my name.  I was sleeping in a sofa chair in her hospital room.  I opened my eyes to her beautiful smile.  My daughter has been in a coma for 98 days.  MMT
22.Today, on our 10th wedding anniversary, she handed me a suicide note she wrote when she was 22. It was dated the exact day we met each other.  And she said, "For all these years I didn't want you to know how foolish and unstable I was back when we met.  But even though you didn't know, you saved me.  Thank you." MMT
23.Today, at 8AM this morning, after four months of lifelessness in her hospital bed, we took my mom off life support.  And her heart continued beating on its own.  And she continued breathing on her own.  Then this evening, when I squeezed her hand three times, she squeezed back three times.  MMT
24.Today, the homeless man who used to sleep near my condo showed up at my door wearing the business suit I gave him nearly 10 years ago.  He said, "I have a home, a job, and a family now.  10 years ago I wore this business suit to all my job interviews.  Thank you."  MMT
25.Today, when I opened my store at 5AM there was an envelope sitting on the floor by the door.  In the envelope was $600 and a note that said, "Five years ago, I broke into your store at night and stole $300 worth of food.  I'm sorry.  I was desperate.  Here's the money with 100% interest."  Interestingly, I never reported the incident to the cops because I assumed that whoever stole the food really needed it.  MMT
